Amaurosis: Destitute of Vision

Amaurosis: Destitute of Vision explores a transitional state between physical installation and hybrid spatial perception.

Originally developed for a solo exhibition during the pandemic, the project emerged at a moment when access to physical space became heavily restricted. Exhibition visits were limited to a small number of appointment-only viewers per day. These constraints became a catalyst for expanding the work beyond the boundaries of physical space into digital and virtual environments.

Developed from large-scale Redthread installations, the project extends material thread structures into virtual and digital space, questioning how human connection persists beyond physical presence and spatial boundaries.

This work marks an early hybrid transition where sculptural space, digital extension, and perceptual systems begin to overlap. Through its virtual expansion, the project started connecting with global audiences beyond the limitations of physical space, becoming an important turning point toward future digital and hybrid installation practices.
